The King has left the building, and we met a chipmunk.

He loves music and we love the piano in the house we stayed in. "We need one. 'Cause I can hear and know where he is.", Ian.

On our drive home from the Chelan Triathlon, we drove through Blewitt Pass, and at the top took a turn up a US Forest Service road, they're everywhere, and great places to go explore... and have lunch!

Really? A chipmunk in a hole at the base of a stump? Did Walt Disney's ghost set this up? Darn cute little critter. There were a few of them around. This one was bold, and he liked almonds.

Lunch in the woods! A nice break in the drive. Washington is a pretty nice place.

Is that Chip or Dale?

Chelanman Triathlon

Here are the kids of the Super Moms. Carla's Quintin and Cassie. Katie's Odin and Soren. Mark and Ian are not important in this picture, the ice cream in Chelan was good.

Full moon that came over the treeless and cloudless horizon. IT was awesome and HUGE.

Kt after her bike and starting her run. She actually stopped to give the boys a moving hug and kiss. We cheered her on!

Mommies biggest fans... passing the time in the sprinkling rain and waiting for Mom to come across the finish line.

Katie pushing it and burning down the finish line. She did great! I'll have her edit in her stats. She was like 8th overall in women's. We were very proud!

Da'Supa Triathlon Dr. Moms! Dr. Schwab and Dr. Ainsworth. Channeling their form Kenyon swimming prowness into a new realm of domination.

Tired legs. Great sun! The lake was refreshing and the scenery stunning. We like Eastern WA.

Even Ian went for a swim ( I wanted to see the fish Kt talked about. Trout and lake perch! Big ones!) The water was "warm" and I even got Odin to do a running Triathlon start from the beach and dive in and swim out to me!
Family Picture! We were all there! and next year we hope to stay the whole weekend! Kt run again, Ian do the sprint Triathlon and Odin can do the Splash and Dash kids run!

As I told you above... the ice cream was good. Even with grass on it.

More Swimming!

Odin took this picture. He is talented in the water and he can take a snapshot of his parents.

Megan came for the big event! She is keeping Soren busy counting cheese.

Ready to race!

A big congratulations from little brother.

OK...so this is supposed to be breaststroke. It is a little "free" breaststroke interpreted by a 4 1/2 year old. At least he dove off the blocks this time.

Let's meditate.

Odin had a great idea about the Japanese rock garden at Bloedel reserve. He thought it was a bunch of islands...with people on it...and they swim.

The family collective

Our strong swimmer!

Waiting for his heat. Note the kid in front of him inscribed with "Eat My Bubbles." A fellow school mate... they're talking smack, some pre-race 4yr old banter.

"Take your Mark." He did great with the preparation, but we cannot post the video of his race, because it is too long. Yup. He wouldn't dive off the blocks because he wasn't at his home pool. So eventually, his coach, Haley, in the black t-shirt, got him down from the block and he pushed him off the side of the pool. He loved every minute of it because the entire poolside was cheering for him...because he was the last kid in the pool still swimming. :) He smiled the entire time.

Here we are preparing for backstroke...Soren is helping. The kid in the green sweatshirt is Coach Haley's oldest.

Odin looks great in his stance on the blocks for his backstroke...

Note the head out of the water. Odin doesn't go far when his body is vertical in the water. However, 2 minutes and 59 seconds later, he touched the wall. He stayed facing backward the entire time. He did lots of vertical kicking, but eventually got to the wall. Again, the entire crowd was cheering him on. I called it perseverance. Coach Haley vowed to put him in the outside lane for easier instruction throughout the race.

Ian's birthday and more adventures with Sheila's family

Happy Birthday to Daddy! Odin and Ian build the Space Needle with legos!

Odin did a great job of following directions.

Swimming with the Peuchaud kiddos.

Fourth of July!

We had a special visit from the Peuchaud's and Browning offspring!

Nothing like a little downhill run with a great dog to start the day!

Then meet up with the family for the parade to follow.

Hot Dogs and Ice Cream at the Cove with all of Normandy Park!

Let SUMMER begin!

Let exposed knees be scraped...

Show me the mountain!

Drinks and dessert on the deck! Actually, this is a deck at Little Water Cantina on Lake Union.

Summer Swim Team! Odin had a blast and had lots of time to drop after his first meet.

He is third from the left in the gray goggles.
