Hawaii - Aaaagh.

It is a shame to be a 4 hour direct flight from Hawaii and not skip over for a long weekend. Ian and I escaped for 5 days in October 2013. I attended a few hours of a conference each day and we enjoyed the beautiful weather and water!
 The view from our balcony.
 Awesome urchin
 snorkling...

Snorkling with SPINNER DOLPHINS! It was AMAZING!

While we were out on the open ocean in the zodiac, we saw a pod of Pilot whales - this one swam right under our boat…and I had an underwater camera - so I shoved it under the water and snapped the above shot. No worries, we didn't swim with them - they are known for "handling" humans and taking them underwater. No thanks, we just wanted pictures.

This is just an awesome niger trigger fish.

September 2013 Magic in PNW

We had the best, warmest, longest summer in the 6 summers that we have been here. September brought us SOREN finally jumping off the diving board at the pool. We couldn't stop him once he felt the rush. His Varda uncles would be proud.

We headed up for a weekend to San Juan Island for camping...
 Rowing...
 Smiling...
 Fishing...
And Whale Watching…hey Boys! The whales are not inside the boat!
We came across ~20+ whales from all three of the Resident Orca Whales. Glorious animals.

The Burn

The White Forest. My favorite instillation.

 Cold Drinks are always popular.

There she is again…holding up a cloud.

The Burn was broad and beautiful.

At night. This pattern was her heart beating…amazing.

 Our camp.
 Our camp screaming.
The Temple burn.

Flying through the air at BurningMan

 Ziplining
 A little dusty
Moods of Norway meets the Man.

 We found a swing.

 Capes all around…
 We found Sutra!

And we found a bar in deep playa!

 Yummy ice cold lemonade…

Riding on the back of Sutra

Sock capes are necessary when exploring the desert. You never know what you may find.

More Burning Man

 That's Katie the Valkyrie

60 foot metal sculpted woman…standing on her toes.

And we got to climb inside her because we donated to bringing her to the Playa. Amazing!

She was, by far, my favorite sculpture of this event. "Truth is Beauty."
